The Alex W. Spears III Family YMCA opened in June of 2002.  This facility has a fitness center that covers over 8,000 square feet, the Energy Factory for youth and teens, 6 basketball courts, 2 aerobic studios, a 25-yard, 7-lane indoor pool with zero entry, and men's & women's locker rooms.

Fitness Center

The fitness center covers over 8,000 square feet of space.  Inside you will find LifeFitness and Hammer Strength weight equipment to work all of your muscle groups, as well as Cross Trainers, Recumbant and Upright Bikes, Stepper machines and Treadmills.  New members can sign up for a free orientation, in which one of our fitness staff will walk you through how to use each piece of equipment. 

             

 

            

Aerobic Studios

We have two aerobic studios for a wide vary of aerobic fitness classes.  For a list of classes and schedules, click here.

        

Energy Factory

Are you looking for a place where you and your youth or teen  can work out together?  The Energy Factory has treadmills for you and your child.  It is also equipped with four game bikes and Dance Dance Revolution.

Pool

The Alex W. Spears III Family YMCA has a 25-yard, 7-lane indoor family pool with a zero entry area.  We also have a slide that goes into the 7 foot end.  To learn more about our aquatics programming, please click on the Aquatics tab above.

            

Basketball Courts

If basketball is your way for exercise, then we have the answer!  With 3 full-size courts or 6 cross courts, pick a game anywhere.  To see the availability of the courts, please check out the monthly gym schedule.

 

Procter Park
Soccer and Baseball Fields

Located directly behind the Alex W. Spears III Family YMCA, Procter Park is our youth and adult sports complex.  Procter Park consists of 4 soccer fields and 2 baseball fields.  The Alex W. Spears III Family YMCA has one of the largest youth sports programs in the Piedmont area.  To get more information about our adult and youth sports programs, please click here.

Child Watch

The Alex W. Spears III Family YMCA also has a place for younger children.  Our child watch service is available during the day and in the evening to care for your child while you work out.  Click here to get more information regarding child watch.
